Position:
The Needham Public Schools seeks a school bus driver. Drivers must be available as scheduled/needed during the school day typically between 6:45 pm-9:00 pm and 1:45 pm-4:00 pm. This entails a morning run, a mid-day run (if scheduled), and an afternoon run. Some athletic trips will be available in the afternoon/evening depending on the season.
Payscale is commensurate with experience. Athletic trips are paid on a different scale.
Drug/alcohol screening is a condition of employment.
License:
Bus drivers must have CDL License, Passenger Endorsement, and School Bus Endorsement.
Employment as a bus/van driver in Needham includes the following additional benefits

Longevity Pay: $500 for every 5 years worked

Paid Holidays: Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday following Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents' Day, Patriots' Day, and Memorial Day

Vacation Days: 5 paid vacation days (taken during school vacation and snow days)

Safety Bonus: $500 annually

Free Training*: With a 2-year commitment to working as a bus or van driver, drivers would be paid at a rate that is $2.00 below Step 1 on the salary scale for up to 4 hours per day

Free Training for Substitute*s: With a 2-year commitment to working as a substitute bus or van driver substitute, drivers would be paid at a rate that is $2.00 below Step 1 of the applicable salary scale for hours spent in direct classroom instruction and behind the wheel training only
*Agreement to repay the amount of the training should the employee not meet the two-year commitment.
Starting pay: $28.00 per hour possibly more depending on experience.
