Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations, the Temporary Production Specialist will be responsible for staffing the Production enter in addition to providing school photocopying and mail/package delivery services for the district.   

 

This is a full-time, temporary position, working 7.0 hours per day, beginning on or before May 1, for approximately twelve weeks.

 

Essential Functions and Duties of the Position:  The essential functions and duties listed blow are intended as illustration of the various types of work that may be performed.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.

  • Provides photocopying, scanning, binding, collating, hole punching and related document production services in a timely and efficient manner within set deadlines.
  • Maintain job ticket and billings for jobs.
  • Pick up and delivery of photocopy assignments to all schools.
  • Collects and reports copy counts.
  • Maintains the machines and equipment of production center; including daily maintenance and contacting outside venders for repair.
  • Provides other document production services including, but not limited to: binding, collating, three hole punching (etc.) 
  • Delivers and picks up daily interoffice and outgoing mail/packages.    
  • Sort and meter outgoing mail.
  • Sort, prepare and process bulk mailings for district.
  • Manages and runs automatic envelope stuffer.
  • Delivers school committee packets.
  • Performs special deliveries upon request.
  • Tracks and monitors the balance in postage meter account.
  • Initiates process to replenish the postage meter account.
  • Delivers payroll checks to designated school offices.
  • Operates assigned delivery vehicles.  

Education and Experience:

Requires High School Diploma or GED.  Possesses and maintains a MA driver’s license in good standing.  Experience in copy center/mail room environments preferred.

 

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle difficult situations with sensitivity and tact
  • Experience and knowledge in a customer service environment
  • Knowledge of production center environments
  • Knowledge and experience with production center technology and equipment
  • Skill in written and oral communications
  • Ability to calmly and professionally interact with students, parents, teachers, co-workers and visitors in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to organize, prioritize work responsibilities and use time efficiently.

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines, equipment and motor vehicles. Throughout the day there will be frequent walking, standing, and climbing. Frequent periods of strenuous physical exertion, requiring ability to lift, carry, and position objects utilizing proper body mechanics and techniques is required. It is expected that there will be regular periods traveling outside, subject to all weather conditions and extremes.
