Job Description: Under the direct supervision of the Special Education Teacher, Classroom Teacher, and Special Education Coordinator, the Teaching Assistant will work closely with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, social-emotional goals and objectives, and maintain appropriate student behavior.

Compensation and Benefits: 

Please review the Unit C contract and this page to learn more about employee compensation and benefits. Compensation for Teaching Assistants ranges from $17.56-$21.51/hour. The typical TA is paid for 204 days, including 180 school days, 3 professional/staff days, 11 holidays and 10 vacation days. We are proud to be one of few communities to offer paid vacation for Teaching Assistants. This paid vacation allows Needham Public Schools to offer relatively consistent pay checks from week to week because our staff does not suffer pay cuts during vacation weeks as many TAs do in other districts.
